We had an incredible day as a family of adult children & parents with our guide, Niels. We got lucky with perfect weather and great visibility. No trouble with the meeting place/time, but make sure you’re on time. Niels was a wealth of information with an obvious love for the area, the outdoors and sharing what he knows with others while focusing on keeping everyone safe and maximizing their experiences. He was clear about “important information” on where to be when so that we could have some free times mixed in the long, full day. Chamonix, Mont Blanc, and the Ice caves were soooo worth the travel and cost of the day. The bus trip is 1hr 15 min long and takes you from Switzerland to France - bring your passports. We returned a little late (7pm instead of 6:30pm) due to the crowds riding the cogwheel train. There is some concern with altitude sickness for young children and people with health issues. You also want to be able to climb many stairs. Enjoy

Full description

Begin your tour in Geneva, you'll meet your guide and board the bus for Chamonix. Gateway to one of the highest peaks of Europe "the Mont-blanc". Embark on a cable car to the summit the Aiguille du midi 3842m.

Enjoy the breath-taking views upon arrival on summit, followed by a twenty minute walking tour to show you the wonders and summits around (Mont-blanc ect)

Next, descend to the village of Chamonix for some free time in the beautiful alpine town. Enjoy local shops and restaurants. You'll have about an hour of free time before re-joining your guide for the afternoon.

Your tour continues with a stroll to the train station, admiring historical landmarks of Chamonix as you go. Then, embark a cogwheel train and ascend 1900m to take in the spectacular views of the Mer de Glace Glacier. In season, you will have the option to visit the ice caves.

Around five 5:00pm the bus will bring us back to geneva to finish the day at around 6:30pm.

What a wonderful day trip! Our guide, was so knowledgeable and we learned so much about Switzerland, as a country, its history and wonderful people. He also shared so many insights about the Chamonix area, both from a personal perspective and as a long time tour guide of nine years. Relaxing route on the bus to and from Mountain with incredible views. We did the guided tour with the ice cave, gondola and cable car and all well worth it!
