We highly recommend this hike with France! The scenery and the view from the top are breathtaking, but the real highlight is the fascinating insight you gain into Iceland’s volcanic history and how the island was formed. The rocks can speak, telling the story of Iceland, but you need the right guide to translate their secrets. As an expert geologist, France is the best person to interpret the language of the rocks. She brings the landscape to life, tracing Iceland’s history from the Ice Ages to its most recent eruptions. A lunch break at the top of the volcano made for an unforgettable experience. Just be sure to bring your own lunch—unsurprisingly, there aren’t any restaurants up there! :)
