What to Expect
Spend the day exploring one of Europe’s largest brick-built castles on a 6-hour excursion from Gdansk to Marienburg.

Built at the time of the Crusades, Malbork Castle was the main site of the Teutonic Order, who came to Christianize the pagan Prussians in the 13th century. A unique piece of fortified architecture, the castle was inscribed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1997.

Today its art and architecture acts as a preserved piece of living history. Within the castle walls you will find a variety of relics, many located inside the Castle Museum.

Climb the tower for splendid views of the River Nogat and surrounding countryside. Discover amber artifacts at the Amber Contexts exhibition, "Golden Teardrop of the Sun," describing the history of the precious tree resin.

The whole castle tour takes approximately 3 to 4 hours, including a break for tea, coffee or a light lunch in the chic restaurant. En route, drive through a picturesque landscape created by the River Vistula (Wisła), Poland's main waterway that carried silt through the ages to create a large river delta.
