Kings Canyon: Full-Day Tour from Ayers Rock Resort

Travel from Ayers Rock Resort to the beautiful Kings Canyon in Watarrka National Park, stopping for breakfast at Kings Creek Station along the way. Once at Kings Canyon, you'll make the rock climb to its rim for some marvelous views of Watarrka National Park and the spectacular surroundings. Follow the rim of the canyon along the 3-hour circuit walk, stopping to look down into the canyon gorge at various look-out points along the way. Time permitting, you may choose to descend into the green oasis of the 'Garden of Eden.' While the tour is recommended for those with a good level of fitness, you may opt for the easier, shorter walk to explore the boulder-strewn canyon floor. Then, you can grab lunch at your own expense. Finally, begin your return journey to Ayers Rock Resort.

This is an excellent tour and AAT Kings delivered with quality. We had three guides on board, Phil (also the driver), Michelle and Glen. Michelle and Glen did the rim walk with about 39 of us. They were a fun duo to be with, kept good time for us, and offered to take pictures voluntarily. They also showed genuine interest in each and everyone of us, talking to people and making the group feel like “family”. The bus was comfortable and had USB ports for phone charging. The included breakfast was sumptuous. Phil’s 1980s and 1990s playlist was eclectic and well curated too. Great tour and I highly recommend it.

Very good guides (Michelle and Glen), who gave detailed information beforehand about how difficult the Rim hike is. Ultimately, only the first 200 stone steps are very strenuous. The rest is a beautiful walk - highly recommended. During the hike and on the bus, there is always interesting information about the region, its origins, plants, etc. Despite the long bus ride (2.75 hours each way) and the very early pick-up (4:30 a.m.), it is a highlight in the Red Center.

The guide Michelle was really great! Lots of knowledge, nice stories and lots of humor. The walk was very worthwhile, the gorge is breathtaking. The beginning is a bit tough (500 'steps' of a stone path up the mountain, the rest is easier. But it is so beautiful there!

It was an amazing day, the best! Our guide Chloe was excellent! Would highly recommend the tour - beautiful scenery, a great walk.

Fantastic full day trip, our guide Michelle & are driver Michael where do good at their job, would highly recommend this tour.
