Jiayuguan is one of the most important towns in the Hexi Corridor along the Silk Road. This day tour takes you to Jiayuguan Fort, the Overhanging Great Wall, First Beacon Tower, and the Wei and Jin tombs.
What to Expect
At 9:00, your guide will meet you in the lobby of your Jiayuguan hotel for a wonderful day trip around Jiayuguan. The first stop is Jiayuguan Fort, which is at the very end of the western part of the Great Wall, built in the Ming Dynasty. Construction of Jiayuguan Fort began in 1372. Today, you can still see the well-preserved walls and buildings of the fort, which was added to the list of World Heritage Sites by UNESCO in 1987.
Next, you will be transferred to climb the Overhanging Great Wall, which was reconstructed in the 1980s according to the original plan, to enjoy the wonderful views. An included lunch will be served right after your visit to the wall. Afterwards, you will head to First Beacon Tower, situated beside the Talai River with stunning valley views. Later, continue sightseeing and head to the Wei and Jin tombs. Finally, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Jiayuguang, where this private day trip concludes.
