This was perfect for me! I wanted to get the most out of Cliffs of Moher experience. I walked from The ferry in Doolin to the Cliffs visitor center. It was spectacular. The views better than others, in my opinion. I also did not want to spend time on a boat or more time on a bus. The bus was full of people going to Aran Island (one of the islands). The bus driver was awesome, Padder (Pather?) He told us history, stories and had lots of jokes! No problem finding meeting point or otherwise.

I did the explorer tour. you take the same bus as those going on the ferry tour except you're dropped off in Doulin to hike alone and meet up with the tour at the visitor's centre. my tour guide was John and he was absolutely lovely. I was the only person on my bus who did the explorer tour so I was solo for a large part of it which I enjoyed. be aware that you get about 5.5 hours to hike which is way more than enough time. I went from Doulin to Hags Head and back to the visitor's centre with an hour to spare (and an hour stop in the middle at the visitor's centre). a lot of things in Doulin aren't open during the middle of the week so the only bathroom is at the visitor's centre so use the bathroom when you can.
