Galle/Mirissa: Yala & Udawalawe Safari Day Trip with Picnic

It was a fantastic day from beginning to end. Our transportation was very efficient and on time. Our guide was amazing at spotting the wildlife. We were lucky enough to see a leopard and the elephants came so close to us!! We saw a huge variety of species as we visited both of the parks and I’d highly recommend this day out. Just remember the entrance fee to the parks is not included and they only take cash. It cost us 26,000 RPS in total for entry. The picnic lunch was in a local restaurant which we weren’t expecting but the service was fantastic and owners were very kind. We thoroughly enjoyed the elephant transit home watching the baby and young elephants at feeding time. All in all a long day but one of the best days ever with memories that will last a lifetime!

We had an amazing day!! It was a super early start but so worth it (you can always sleep in the car during transportation between the different activities). Remember to take snacks and water as this is a long day and only lunch is provided. We had a lovely traditional Sri Lankan curry. The guide was fantastic, drove efficiently to get us between the different parks. The elephant sanctuary is one of the best in Sri Lanka and has no chained elephants. Definitely reccommend this experience it’s fab if you’re trying to see a lot in a small time. We saw loads of elephants, birds, crocodiles, even a leopard!!! If a guide asks to get in with you at a national park be warned they expect at least 10000LKR - always ask before letting them in.
