Punta Pitt is located northeast of San Cristobal. It is comprised of a hill that has a small beach full of minerals, one of them being olivine, responsible for the olive green colored sand. Due to its geographical location, the area contains large amounts of minerals, making it a perfect feeding spot for hundreds of different pelagic species. The presence of these species in turn makes it an ideal feeding ground for the marine birds nearby, creating a balanced ecosystem. You can take part in a fishing activity. The pick up starts between 08:30 AM to 08:45 AM in the morning and 1:30 PM to 1:45 PM in the afternoon depending on the hotel where the pax is located. We will go to La Lobería (small islet located 10 minutes away from the port), site where we carry out the snorkeling activity in which there is the possibility of swimming with sea lions. Then we moved to Punta Estrada to watch birds such as: blue-footed boobies, seagulls and pelicans. Our third activity consists of an excursion to the Playa de los dogs where we can find iguanas in quantity around an area of volcanic rocks and sesuvium. Likewise, we continue towards the Channel of Love and the Shark Channel (in the latter we can make sightings of blue sharks). The tour end in Puerto Ayora's dock, there no drop off in the hotel . The second and principle spot is in Los Tuneles where you will be allowed to do more snorkeling and enjoy some short trail observing the landscape and teeming wildlife. Cabo Rosa is heaven to sea turtles, marine iguanas, sea lions, blue footed boobies, royal frigate, eagle rays, penguins, lobsters, sea snakes, a variety of birds, among other species. Hot box lunch will be served aboard. It is recommended to wear a wetsuit in order to neutralize the sea temperature, because it falls below 20ºC from June to November and it is up to 27ºC from December to May. This place is known for its small white sand dunes in addition to the crystalline waters. León Dormido/Kicker Rock: Kicker Rock (León Dormido) is a cone-shaped rock of volcanic tuff in the middle of the ocean. It is approximately 148 meters (485 ft.) high, formed by two rocks that create a canal, making it an ideal spot for different aquatic activities. Punta Pitt (No disembark). Punta Pitt is located northeast of San Cristobal. It is comprised of a hill that has a small beach full of minerals, one of them being olivine, responsible for the olive green colored sand. Due to its geographical location, the area contains large amounts of minerals, making it a perfect feeding spot for hundreds of different pelagic species. The presence of these species in turn makes it an ideal feeding ground for the marine birds nearby, creating a balanced ecosystem. You can take part in a fishing activity. The guide will pick up you in the lobby of the hotel ( Hotel pick up inside the Urban perimeter puerto ayora) We have 2 departures 09H00 AM or 14H00 PM, , the tour lasts between 3 hours. The pick up starts between 08:30 AM to 08:45 AM in the morning and 1:30 PM to 1:45 PM in the afternoon depending on the hotel where the pax is located. Description: Early in the morning, at 07:15 or 11:00 am, after wondering a delicious breakfast, you will embark on a must-do day trip to one of the most biodiverse sites in the Galapagos, Los Tuneles -or The Tunnels in English- also known as Cabo Rosa. They are unique geological formations, a series of arcs and tunnels underneath and above the water, located 1 hour riding from Puerto Villamil Pier. The first spot is in Roca Union a small islet located in the open sea were watching majestic pelicans, blue footed boobies and Nazca Boobies and, occasionally, sea lions resting on the rocks makes your terrific journey. This site is an ideal place for snorkeling due to its crystal-clear and shallow waters, so there is possible to swim next to sea turtles, white-tipped sharks, trumpetfish and surgeon fish. It is also able to see eagle and golden rays. The second and principle spot is in Los Tuneles where you will be allowed to do more snorkeling and enjoy some short trail observing the landscape and teeming wildlife. Cabo Rosa is heaven to sea turtles, marine iguanas, sea lions, blue footed boobies, royal frigate, eagle rays, penguins, lobsters, sea snakes, a variety of birds, among other species. Hot box lunch will be served aboard. It is recommended to wear a wetsuit in order to neutralize the sea temperature, because it falls below 20ºC from June to November and it is up to 27ºC from December to May. Departure: at 7:15 am or 11:00 am from Puerto Villamil Pier Returning time: approximately at 1:30 pm or 5:00 pm Travel Time: speed boat ride takes around 1 hour (August – October the seas can be quite rough). Adventurers with back or neck injuries are not advised to take this journey.
