Renting the bikes and getting an audio tour ticket for neuschwanstein castle was an excellent way to see the castle. Directions to the castle were easy. Originally our tickets were mixed up but it got resolved pretty quickly. Would recommend this tour.

Picked up tickets and bikes pretty fast at the Hostel. It was a self ride to the castle with further tour inside. Few notes: - had to buy this tour because tickets were sold out on the website - bikes are rather old - guided tour was 25 mins only But overall a good experience.

Full description

Pick up a hire bike and enjoy a trip to Bavaria's quintessential destination, Neuschwanstein Castle. Pedal down a dedicated path, then either walk or travel by bus of horse-drawn carriage up the driveway, then skip the line for entry.

Start your day by collecting your bike at the activity provider's office in Füssen. Plan your route on the useful and complimentary map. Ride down the bike path towards the famous fairytale-like castle.

Once there, make the 30-minute walk towards the entrance. Alternatively, hop on a bus or ride in a horse drawn carriage to get to the building.

Skip the line and enter the Castle directly. Browse the fascinating interior and pause for photographs of this incredible structure.

If you're like us and didn't book your castle tickets early enough, I highly recommend this as your alternative option! We had a great day out. Sure the bikes have had a lot of love, but other than a rattle here and there, we're very safe and in good condition. The journey to town was mostly flat added to the magic of the day. Also it doesn't seem to clear up in the description, but don't worry, you'll have plenty of time to ride into town and get up to the castle before your time slot. It was also great to be given a map and some recommendations of where else to go while you're in the area, you get the bikes for the whole day which was fab!
