The whole experience was pretty amazing. We decided to do an audio tour of both Castles. We started with the Hohenschwangau Castle. The path to the top was scenic with a few places to stop and see Neuschwanstein Castle in the background. The tour itself wasn’t too long but gave you a solid look at the castle and its history. Next we took a Horse-drawn Carriage up to the Neuschwanstein Castle. Definitely recommend using the carriages to get up there. We had a bit to wait but the tour was worth it. Such an incredible place to visit. After the tour they have an excellent gift shop. Also worth visiting the cafe to grab a drink and a snack then step out onto the patio to take in the amazing views of the valley from up high. The walk back down to the parking lot is long so if you aren’t ready for an arduous downhill walk make sure to get a two way ticket so you can get a ride back down. Definitely worth visiting both castles!

Full description

Very Important! Your "Start Time" is the time you collect your tickets at our office in Füssen Train Station. Your tour inside the castles begin 2 hours later.

Step into a real-life fairytale with the King's Ticket, your exclusive pass to two of Germany’s most iconic royal landmarks: Neuschwanstein Castle and Hohenschwangau Castle. Nestled in the breathtaking Bavarian Alps near Füssen, these architectural marvels offer a captivating journey through history, fantasy, and the opulent world of King Ludwig II.

Explore elaborately decorated rooms including the ornate Throne Room and the Singer’s Hall. Every corner of the castle reflects Ludwig’s romantic vision of kingship and medieval mythology. Your included guided tour provides rich insights into the king’s life, his creative obsessions, and the symbolic art that fills the rooms.

Just below Neuschwanstein lies Hohenschwangau Castle, the lesser-known but equally fascinating residence where King Ludwig II spent much of his youth. Rebuilt by King Maximilian II (Ludwig's father) in the 19th century, Hohenschwangau features neo-Gothic architecture and boasts beautifully painted walls depicting German legends and heroic tales.

A guided tour of Hohenschwangau offers a more personal glimpse into the royal family's daily life. Visit intimate rooms filled with period furniture, original artworks, and breathtaking views of the surrounding lakes and mountains.
