Barcelona: Discover Gaudi Architectural Guided Tour

6. Barcelona: Discover Gaudi Architectural Guided Tour

See amazing examples of modern architecture including the Antoni Tàpies Foundation and Casa Lleó Morera by Domènech i Montaner, Casa Amatller by Puig i Cadafalch, hidden courtyards, and, of course, the 3 main residential buildings designed by Antoni Gaudi: Casa Calvet, Casa Batlló, and Casa Milà.  Trace the path that took Antoni Gaudí from his social concerns toward a total absorption with the divine until he finally became 'the last great cathedral builder.' Delve into the architectural essence of Gaudi and his visual power, which made him such an inspiration to the Surrealists as well as the most famous Spanish architect. You'll learn about a series of turning points in his career that include a project in Manhattan, the last commission from his patron, Eusebi Güell, and his first architectural steps with the Sagrada Família. All of the guides are practising architects, most of whom are also professors of architecture as well as architectural critics. This wide spectrum of knowledge on a huge range of topics will help you to get an in depth insight into the buildings visited. At the end of the walk, you will receive a guide written by the local partner's passionate team with suggestions of places to have a drink and architecture to admire.

Barcelona: Fundació Antoni Tàpies Entrance and Exhibitions

7. Barcelona: Fundació Antoni Tàpies Entrance and Exhibitions

See one of the most modern and contemporary collections of art in the city at the Fundació Antoni Tàpies cultural center and museum. Enjoy the artistic offerings of Catalonia including pictures and sculptural artworks from Antoni Tàpies. The iconic language of Tàpies has been as a result of the creation of plastic and diverse artworks admired all over the whole world. Explore his collection and also discover the temporal exhibitions by other artists. Currently there are two temporary exhibitions: • Roman Ondak. Infinitum - Available until 22th November: This exhibition plays between fiction and reality. Reality, which is informed by the artist’s personal experiences from the past while he grew in a society where reality was partially experienced as a fiction. • Tàpies. Wood, Paper, Cardboards and Collages - Available until 22th November: The exhibition focuses on the precariousness of Tàpies materials, the imprint left by the artist and the message he wanted to communicate, because it was through this type of work that Tàpies could more precisely transmit the anxiety he felt when faced with the excesses of contemporary culture. Take a moment to admire the exterior of the Fundació Antoni Tàpies building, that, in its modernist and industrial style, is also an artwork in itself. It was constructed at the end of 19th-century by the architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner, a pioneer of modernist architecture.

I only booked this bus trip because my mother is not prepared to walk a lot, but I was wrong, this bus ride is awesome for everyone that wants to see Barcelona. You can step out of the vehicle and take another one to continue the trip. They have 2 different courses: a red one and a blue one, that will show different monuments and sights in Barcelona. In one day you can do both, but if you have more days to see everything more deeply, I'll recommend you buy these tickets!

Great way to see the city. Really interesting commentary in 15 languages and really helped us decide what stops we wanted to get off and look at. Only drawback on some of the stops were that they weren’t very clear where to pick the bus up from when walking between them. We spent ages looking for the stop by Glories and arc de triumph so ended up getting the metro

Great way to get a feel for the whole city. Busses came often which was good because sometimes they were too full and we couldn’t get in the first one.

Very good for know touristic points in the city. You can stop, know the place and take again the bus for a new point.

Excellent, we have visited many places in the peninsula
