Your journey begins at the marina in Funchal, where you will board the sailing yacht with a group of up to 20 people. On this relaxing sailing trip, you will be searching for dolphins, whales, and sea turtles up to 3 miles from the coast. With some luck, you will see lots of native wildlife in their natural environment.  There will be a stop to go swimming and snorkeling at Cabo Girão. Here, you can see the highest sea cliff in Europe, which towers 1,903 feet (580 meters) above the sea. If you don't want to swim, you can simply admire the beautiful coastal landscapes from the boat. You will be offered one complimentary drink onboard and be able to admire the beautiful sunset over the sea.

Your 3-hour luxury catamaran tour begins at the docks of the new marina of Funchal. Board the catamaran and enjoy a glass of sparkling wine before setting off. Sail into the ocean to find dolphins, whales, and turtles. Spot these creatures in their natural habitat. After sailing around spotting dolphins, whales and turtles enjoy a 30 minute stop next to Cabo Girão, the 1920 foot (586m) seaside cliff. Here you have a change o go swimming in the crystal clear waters. After a quick swim, you will get back on the boat where you can relax and enjoy the views of the coast of Funchal as you head back to the marina.

Benefit from hotel or guest house pick-up in Funchal (pick-up and drop off outside Funchal is available for an additional fee). Then, travel to the mountains of Madeira and see the Ribeira Brava valley from an altitude of approximately 1,400 meters. Journey through the countryside using old roads and tracks used for forestry and farming. Discover some of Madeira's traditional villages, such as Campanário, Lugar da Serra, Trompica, São Paulo and Ribeira Brava. Marvel at views of the mountains and valleys from an open-top 4x4. Watch the colors of the sunset before a barbecue dinner at a local restaurant. Here, you will feast from a menu (bread, main course and dessert, 1 drink and coffee included) of typical dishes such as espetada - large chunks of beef rubbed in garlic and salt and grilled over an open fire, then served with local fried corn. Sample bolo do caco, the circular bread shaped like a cake that is cooked on a "caco" (a flat basalt stone slab) and served with garlic butter. 

Watch the sunset on a rustic swing overlooking the sea on this private trip from your accommodation in Funchal or Caniço. Enjoy wine and fruits and swing as the sounds of nature dim and the sun touches the ocean in shades of orange. After pickup, leave directly to a secret spot with a fantastic view of the sunset. This viewpoint is known as Pico dos Barcelos and is located in Funchal, providing a fascinating panoramic view of the city. This place was built back in the ‘50s but it was all its upgrades that made it popular amongst travelers, and locals. On a bright sunny day, it is even possible to see the Desert Islands from this great observation point. This hot spot provides a beautiful background for amazing shots, but also to enjoy a great cup of coffee while enjoying the stunning views. The journey will continue its course towards another great perspective of the island, located at an elevation of 1,095 m above sea level. The Eira do Serrado viewpoint, is located in the mountains in the city of Câmara de Lobos. A spot that shows a fantastic panoramic view of the valley, where one can see the charming village of Curral das Freiras, and the most majestic mountains as a backdrop. Soak up all the beautiful sounds, and mesmerizing details that nature provides from up there. This viewpoint/terrace was built in 1962, having had some upgrades through the years to make it even more inviting to all its guests. Why the name Nuns Valley one might ask. Because back in 1566, some nuns from the Santa Clara Convent in Funchal sought refuge in this remote spot whilst French pirates attacked and plundered their city. Surrounded by massive mountains, bursting with green vegetation, the peace and solitude that this place offers are undeniably one of a kind. The journey back will be just as exciting, with an expert driver/storyteller providing curious details and fun history facts.

Start the tour with pickup from your accommodation in Machico, Caniço, or Funchal (including the port). Set off for the starting point of the hike - the Levada dos Maroços a hiking area in the hills above the city of Machico. Begin your hike through the beautiful landscape which is mainly composed of agricultural land and carefully worked crops, complemented by impressive views over Machico. Along the way, observe the local residents in their usual daily tasks, such as tending to their land and animals. Enjoy the opportunity to spend a few hours outdoors soaking up the typical environment of the island.
