We were picked up by the guide at the hotel as agreed at the agreed time. The guide spoke nicely in English (though very accented) about the surroundings and special sights on the trip there. Friendly and very welcoming and also liked to talk a lot about his own mountain farms. Good to wait and give room to take pictures and new surroundings. The tour itself is in beautiful surroundings, though a bit golden, but this is the season (early January). In the spring, there is definitely more lush and more flora. On the return trip we drove past a local bar to sample Madeira's Poncha (local beverage). The guide gave plenty of time for this and afterwards drove us back to the hotel on time. Good trip all in all. recommendable.

Site with magnificent views

From Ponta de São Lourenço you can reach the Sardinha Restaurant within an hour. It is 3 km, and is on the tip of a peninsula. The path has many ups and downs with hundreds of steps. It is not difficult to go if someone has no knee arthrosis problems, but if they do, I recommend going very slowly and returning by boat- leaving a small anchorage near the Sardine Resturant. The guide was very attentive and helped me in the descents and climbs. The boat trip pays a further 20 euros per person to go to a lighthouse and return to the port of Quinta do Lorde. The boat trip allowed us to get a close look at the beautiful color of the sea - Madeira's navy blue - and to see the huge rocks below. Volcanic rocks impress with the rugged beauty. I give it 4 stars because the tour should be rated requiring moderate (not easy) effort. We took the tour with Explore Nature. Get your guided did not report pick up location at our hotel

Viele „wow“ Momente, Blicke!! (mittlere Schwierigkeitsgrad)
