Full description
Hike up through Pico Grande’s central mountain chain and enjoy breathtaking views of the island’s dramatic volcanic landscapes. Start your hike at Boca da Corrida and set out with your professional, certified mountain guide to cover 9.5km and 600m of vertical gain.
At 1654m, Pico Grande is not the highest mountain of Madeira, but it stands at the center of the islands on a ridge that links Madeira’s central mountain range and the high plateau of Paúl da Serra. Pico Grande remains one of the best lookout mountains, offering panoramic views of the Valley of Serra de Agua, Curral das Freiras, and Ribeira Brava Basin. You’ll also get to experience some of Madeira’s high-altitude endemic flora and fauna.
At the end of your hike, you'll return to Boca da Corrida for your return trip.
