    Stunning hike

We were lucky and had some great weather so the views were stunning throughout. I would recommend doing this hike with a guide (although you can easily do so without) as it meant that the group was provided with lots of info about the local flora and the route itself, plus being dropped off/picked up was super convenient! I would recommend this hike for people of moderate fitness and up as there are some very steep sections that took their toll!

It was great trip. Well organized. Peace was adjusted to every member of group. We went in small group of 11 people. Guide told as lot of facts about plants, peaks and Madeira itself. This hike is excellent. Spectacular views all the way. Hike is of moderate difficulty. If you do few mountain hikes per year you should be ok. We did hike in excellent weather. Can be much more difficult in bad weather. Be prepared for cold, windy and even rainy weather.

    What an adventure!

Gloria was a great guide. The group was able to move at their own paces but Gloria would manage to bring us all together to share information/history along the route. This truly is a difficult hike in potentially rainy conditions so you need to be prepared for anything. I would only suggest this hike if you are in good shape and dont mind stairs, mud, and lots of inclines.
