Full description
The sun rises over your hotel as you set out on your walking tour adventure. Leaving from the comforts of your room in Funchal on the Madeira Islands, we'll drive you up to the third highest peak in Madeira - the magnificent Pico Arieiro. You'll sip coffee or a drink on your way up to the base of the peak, looking out at all the stunning beauty this place has to offer. As we head from sea level up to the base at 5,964ft (1818m), you'll pass beautiful flora and fauna. Finally, we'll begin our mighty walk up the mighty Pico Arieiro up to the highest point on the island, the Pico Ruivo peak at 6107 ft (1862m). Finally, we'll walk down to Teixeira where you'll be comfortably transferred back to your hotel. And of course, no day of hiking is complete without a drink at a traditional bar, so we'll make sure to stop at one with a spectacular view to enjoy the closing of your day!

A fantastic hike with a great mountain guide. Don't know if my fitness is that good but I found the hike quite easy. A nice walk with up/down and lots of steps. However, you should be sure-footed. If you are not physically fit, you have many opportunities to pause but you can definitely get up

I didn’t hire a car so this was the easiest way to do the peak to peak hike. Guide was great and it was beautiful weather. The walk has a few challenging parts but overall if you have an ok level of fitness I think you’ll be grand. Beautiful views!

Great guided hike! Beautiful vistas all along the way. It was perfect having dropoff at one peak and pickup at the end of the trail. Our guide (Narciso) was informative and kept everyone on a comfortable pace. Group ages ranged from 30s to 70s. Pickup and dropoff in Funchal was smooth. Highly recommend!
