Escape the hustle and bustle of Funchal on a full-day scenic tour of the west of Madeira. Admire the unspoiled natural beauty of the area and visit the charming village of Porto Moniz. Following pickup from selected hotels in Funchal, pass through the traditional fishing village of Câmara de Lobos. Continue to Cabo Girão Skywalk, Europe's highest cliff skywalk at 589m. Next, head towards the Ribeira Brava and go north through the deep and narrow valleys of Serra D'Água. Upon arrival at Encumeada, enjoy an incredible view of the south and north coast of the island. Cross a mountain pass, and witness the rugged beauty of the north coast, where Atlantic rollers deposit white surf on the cliffs. Traverse Madeira's highest plateau, and enjoy more spectacular panoramas. Continue to São Vicente on Madeira’s north coast. Visit the beautiful village of Porto Moniz and take 1 hour for lunch, as well as time to admire the volcanic swimming pools. Finish your tour at Paul da Serra to see one of the biggest natural reserves in the world.

Fantastic views of Madeira, it was a great way to see much of the island as I do not drive. Swimming at the rock pools in Porto Moniz was a highlight, but I also loved the viewpoints seen on the way. I'd recommend bringing a packed lunch so you have time to go swimming once in Porto Moniz - if you eat at a restaurant there, you will not have time.

Vorweg, diese Tour hat sich wirklich gelohnt! Wir wurden pünktlich am verabredeten Treffpunkt, der Platz auf dem auch die AIDA-Busse stehen, aufgenommen! Unser Fahrer, Gonzalo, ist ein einheimischer und erzählte sehr viel zu der Landschaft, den Ortschaften und den dort wachsenden Pflanzen. Wir besuchten Orte wie die Aussichtsplattform Cabo Girao als Erstes, so das wir vor allen anderen Bussen vor Ort waren und in Ruhe den Ausblick genießen konnten Der frisch zubereitete Poncha in einer kleinen Kneipe, war der Hammer! 😋 Während der vielen mal kurzen und mal längeren Pausen, war immer genügend Zeit die Gegend zu erkunden! Der Bus verfügte über 18 Sitzplätze und somit waren wir eine kleine Gruppe und Ein- und Ausstieg ging immer Recht zügig! Nach 8 Std. Tour und pünktlich zurück am Schiff, ist man wirklich platt von den tollen Eindrücken! Alles in allem eine wirklich gelungene Tour mit sehr vielen tollen Orten und Sehenswürdigkeiten. Gern wieder!

The tour was fantastic and very informative and covered a lot of ground. our guide Nuno was great too, very accommodating, had a great sense of humour. people on the tour were also lovely which was a nice bonus. variety of things to see and definitely worth the money. bus was comfortable. Only regret was not getting the contact details of who were with me on the tour and booking the east side trip too! ~ Jordan Leung
