Donnie was our guide & he was fantastic - we shared a lovely lunch with him at a local cafe & then we went to many beautiful & interesting places - he showed us so much & we had many laughs & enjoyed each others company - I would highly recommend Donnie as a guide - friendly, knowledgeable & easy to work with

Our guide Miyuki is just informative and helpful. She confirms prior to event date and get an idea where we would like to go and do ahead of time. She arrives at hotel lobby before scheduled meet up time. She introduced the history and layout of Fukuoka. We went to Daizaifu Shrine. We were fascinated with the history of the Shrine, the culture and do and not to do. She organized a sumptuous lunch at a quiet restaurant and we took a stroll in the garden after. Very nice. Then she took us to Tenji shopping street. We had a GREAT time thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We will find Miyuki next time we need a guide and DEFINITELY refer her to our friends. She really takes care of us. Thanks Miyuki!

Full description

Discover Fukuoka on a fully customizable private tour. This dynamic city is home to many historical temples and is famous for its unique food culture. Choose what you would like to experience, what time you would like to start your tour, and the local partner will arrange a tour to suit you. Example 6-hour Itinerary: Meet your guide at your hotel in Fukuoka and first head to Ohori Park and Fukuoka Castle Ruins. Take a stroll through the large park and visit the Japanese-style garden at the south end of the park. Continue to Fukuoka Tower where you can admire fantastic views of the ocean and Hakata. Enjoy lunch at Ramen Stadium where you browse eight famous stalls that serve different styles of ramen from across Japan. Take a short ride via public transportation and visit the Dazaifu Tenman-gū shrine. Walk through the grounds surrounded by the lush forests and see the precious historical landmarks. Along the path to the shrine which is lined with shops from the Dazaifu Station area, sample famous brands of wagashi confections such as Umegaemochi.

The personalised tour was well organised. The guide was superb and explained well. Pace of the tour was just right. Managed to learn the history of Fukuoka Castle slightly, the origin of Udon. The guide Ms Chizuko has a great personality and I will highly recommend her to my friends if they will to go to Fukuoka in the near future
