Overall rating
Grace Group This was my second time visiting the DMZ, but it was no less impressive than the first! As a German whose parents experienced the division of Germany first-hand, the visit touched me on a personal level. The parallels between Korea and Germany – two countries split by ideology and war – are striking. But the way the Korean peninsula has developed since then is also a powerful reminder that history can take very different paths. What made this tour truly stand out was our guide, Grace. She managed to strike the perfect balance between delivering historical facts and keeping things light with her warm personality and humor. You could tell how much she cares about the topic and about helping visitors understand the significance of the DMZ – not just as a tourist site, but as a place that still symbolizes unresolved conflict, pain, and hope for reunification. Highly recommended for anyone interested in history, politics, or simply gaining a deeper understanding of Korea today.
I’ve been on a lot of tours and, honestly, our tour guide Cool was absolutely amazing. He was engaging, informative and absolutely hilarious. He made the whole trip fantastic and I genuinely wish more tour guides were as passionate and enthusiastic as he was. The day was planned quite well and we enjoyed the tunnel visit as much as you can enjoy going down and coming up a tunnel, but the best part of it was the observatory - it was amazing to see North Korea, the propaganda villages, the flags and other random buildings. Promptly leaving at 7:30am and getting back to Seoul for 1:30pm also meant we could do a lot more with the rest of the day, so this shorter tour is definitely worth it if you’re strapped for time. Let’s just hope you land Cool as your tour guide!
Kelly was a wonderful guide. Her English and public speaking skills were spectacular and despite living in Korea for a few years I got to learn so many new things. Everything went according to the schedule and Kelly couldn’t have done a better job at making the whole experience a huge pleasure. I never visited the DMZ since I found it a sensitive topic but after giving it a try I would recommend it to future tourists. We were not able to take pictures in some areas but I would recommend future visitors to just experience it themselves. Thank you!
Cool was excellent at explaining all aspects of the DMZ to us. He speaks English well and is very friendly.
Really interesting day, our tour guide was amazing
