Hillerød: Frederiksborg Castle Entry Ticket

Experience Frederiksborg Castle and museum with magnificent halls, portraits, history paintings, and special exhibitions only 35 minutes north of Copenhagen. The impressive Renaissance castle was built in the first decades of the 17th century by the Danish king Christian IV. Outside you find the Baroque Garden and Castle Lake. A visit to Frederiksborg gives you the opportunity to experience the pomp and splendor of earlier times up close. With its fabulous location in the middle of Castle Lake, surrounded by the Baroque Garden and the romantic landscaped garden, Frederiksborg is a unique excursion destination with great cultural experiences, garden walks, and boat trips with The Small Ferry throughout summer. The museum at Frederiksborg Castle comprises both the Museum of National History and the Danish National Portrait Gallery. The Renaissance castle dates back to the time of king Christian IV (1588-1648) and today, hundreds of portraits and history paintings showcase important faces and events in the history of Denmark. The collection of portraits is the largest and most significant in Denmark, with new works continually added to the collection. The symmetry, sculpted trees, and royal monograms of Frederik IV’s Baroque Garden from the 1720s stand in contrast to the romantic landscape garden, with its wild forest, winding streams, and Frederik II’s Bath House Castle from 1580. Visitors can also see Countess Danner’s Norwegian-inspired cabin on an island in one of the landscape garden’s several lakes. Take a break at the museum's restaurant, Rabarbergaarden Slottet, where the focus is on local, organic ingredients from a sustainable farm-to-table kitchen. Enjoy the beautiful surroundings in the former stable building at the largest Renaissance complex in the Nordics, where the restaurant is located. Your entry ticket also includes an app complete with a free audio guide. The app also allows you to scan the artwork to receive more information on each one.

Fantastic guide Dea took care of each participant of the tour at every stage of the journey, smiling, full of enthusiasm, conveyed information in an accessible way. She offered free water during the journey. She showed us places outside the planned tour program, and she is an excellent driver. I really liked traveling by bus, smaller group of tourists, easier to move around on the route. I really like the tour program itself, a wonderful place worth seeing, and there was enough time to explore for an average tourist. I definitely recommend. The best guide I have ever traveled with

This is a MUST do day trip for who ever visiting Copenhagen. We have travelled across 14 European countries within the last couple of years and Thomas is simply the best tour guide we met. His motivation, enthusiasm, hospitality, time management and knowledge are incredible and amazing. I highly recommend you all travellers this day trip. Good job Thomas, see you again in Copenhagen. Regards Amila & Jithmee

Great mix of venues to visit, very nice Mercedes van for transport, enough time for lunch but could have spend an extra 30 minutes at the Fredericksburg castle in order to see the gardens too but otherwise there was enough time at all visited locations. Our guide Heinrick did a very nice job of explaining what he could and asking about things he didn’t know. Very good trip overall

This day trip was super enjoyable, the places are beautiful, the guide is knowledgable, the van is comfy, overall a great experience and well worth the price

WONDERFUL!!!! Silas was the best guide of our entire vacation. Witty, knowledgeable, and just made the day perfect!
