This was an absolutely excellent day. We left the train station on a quick 20 minute ride to Frascati, which is the end of the train line. There is no difficulty with the train. After exiting the station, the guides were very visible and accessible. They are familiar with the process and can guide you to the proper tour guide. We walked around the small town of Frascati with our wonderful guide to Paulo, hearing history that lends itself to the wind making. We then had a glass of wine in one of the small remaining taverns in Frascati. We traveled by Van to the farmhouse where we enjoyed more history of the vineyard, the family, and the wine. It was enthralling. We then went inside to join the pasta making group from another tour to enjoy a dinner, finally being serenaded by guitar from the owners son. We made it back to the train at 4:30 p.m. with plenty of time. If you go on a Sunday, they have a flea market and farmers market in town. It was a fantastic day! Highly recommend!!!

Full description

Welcome in Frascati! You will start your half day trip by discovering the charming town of Frascati, known to be "the City of the Roman Golden Wine" and last but not least the City of the prestigious Renaissance Villas of the noble roman families.

You will be recommended to reach Frascati via a short train ride from Roma termini station that leaves at 9:49am (9:54am on Sundays) directed to FRASCATI station, and you will meet your host right outside the entrance of Frascati station in the middle of the square! You can also reach the meeting point with your own car or taxi!

You will tour the town first, to discover why Frascati had a key role in the history and in the wine tradition of the Eternal City.
You will enjoy the different areas of the historic center, and you will taste local wine paired with a traditional snack!
You will then be transferred to a family's ancient Wine Farmhouse, only a few minutes distant from the town.

You will enjoy a family run ancient Wine Farmhouse, located in the valleys of the Frascati Wine, only 7 minutes distant from the town of Frascati.
Here the family has cultivated vineyards and olive trees for nine generations, and produced jug wine directly in the old cellar.
The farmhouse is now a sort of "Frascati Wine Museum" surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, where the family spread the culture of local good wines and good food.

You will have a guided visit and tasting of 3 Boutique Wines and EVO Oil, along with a traditional LUNCH at the family farmhouse!
At the end of the experience, you will be transferred back in town where you will take the return train from the city center to Rome!

The meeting point will be right outside the entrance of Frascati Train station behind the yellow taxi stand! It is suggested to reach the meeting point by taking the train at 9:49am from Roma Termini station to Frascati station! That will be a short 20 minutes train ride. Otherwise you can arrive there with your own car or taxi!

  • In order to reach the meeting point, located behind the yellow taxi stand right outside the entrance of Frascati Train station, we suggest you to reach Frascati by the comfortable and short train ride from Roma Termini station to Frascati station! It is a 20 minutes ride and the tickets cost 2 Eur per person.

# Frascati Wine Tour In Frascati, 20 minutes from Rome, our guide Paola led us through town for wine tasting before visiting a family vineyard. The estate features an ancient basalt cave and stunning views. Paola expertly introduced us to organic "mineral wines" from the basalt-rich soil. We enjoyed artisanal sandwiches and delicious pasta with unlimited wine, while Alfredo, the owner's son, performed Italian and English songs on guitar. Our scheduled 4-hour tour extended to 5 wonderful hours. Thanks to Paola, this ranks among my best experiences ever. Highly recommended—you'll leave happy and tipsy! 😊
