After taking off, cross the main divide and experience amazing views of the La Peruse & Balfour Glaciers, Fox & Franz Josef Glaciers, lush greens of the native rainforest, and towering peaks of Aoraki Mount cook and Mount Tasman to land on New Zealand’s longest glacier, the Tasman Glacier. Once landed, the Helicopter will shut down completely for passengers to enjoy the tranquility and silence of the beautiful alpine surroundings. Enjoying clean air, glistening snow and plenty of time for photography before returning to the West Coast and descending the Franz Josef Glacier back to Franz Josef Heliport. The flight was reduced to 30 minutes due to lack of other passengers and the time changed to be 2 hours earlier at the last minute due to poor weather. This made for a very stressful day getting to the meeting point on time without any prior warning. We were refunded the difference in price for the reduced flight. Then the address we were given did not match up with the location. We were not given any information about the name of the place we had to find to check in for our flight even though we were told we would receive an email with the name of the provider. The email never came. The flight itself was fantastic and the experience of being up on the snow at the top of the Tasman Glacier was just fabulous. The pilot was excellent and his commentary was informative. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
