Imbros Gorge is located in the south-eastern part of the White Mountains, it's length is 7 km and has slopes up to 300m high. It begins in the village of Imbros (800m) and ends in the village of Komitades (300m). It is part of the E4 European Long Distance Trail, it's relatively easy and pleasant path. At the beginning of the gorge you may see the old cobbled road that used to be the only way to connect the village of Sfakia with the northern side of the island. It's famous for its rare flora and beautiful scenery. Our bus will pick you up from a designated pick up point (outside or near your hotel) and after about 90 minutes drive we will arrive in the village of Imbros. Then follows the walk through the gorge, guided by our licensed trekking guide who will help you if you need it and give you information about the whole area. You will then visit Frangokastello, where we will have two hours free time to enjoy the sea! In the late afternoon we will return by bus to the same point you got picked up in the morning

The gorge of Imbros is the second most popular gorge for walkers in Crete after the gorge of Samaria. It is much easier to walk than Samaria: walking distance is 8 km, total descent is around 600m and the average walking time is about 2.5 hours. The path is generally easier underfoot.This is the sort of walk that you could easily walk with children. It also would not need to take a whole day. After the hike we will be stopping for you to have lunch at a local restaurant with a majestic view. Our next stop would be Fragokastelo, a 14th century castle in front of the beach that will mesmerise you! Finishing the day we will stop by Iligas beach near Sfakia harbor where you have the option to have some drinks in a cave bar in front of light blue waters! Approximate duration is 8-9 hours. It's a highly recommended tour if you are visiting Greece and want to have a special day spent around nature.

The Imbros Gorge is about 780 m above sea level and is immediately the neighboring gorge of the Samaria. It is about 8 km long and can easily be walked through in 2 to 3 hours. The gorge winds partly in a serpentine manner and becomes at one point so narrow that you can touch the walls with outstretched arms.  At the end of the gorge is the village Komitades, where you will have free time for lunch. Afterwards, you will drive to Fragokastelo, an old Venetian castle, where your guide will tell you about its interesting past before having free time to take a dip in the cool Libyan sea and start the journey back in the early afternoon.
