Full description
Enjoy a morning tour to the romantic city of Heidelberg situated on the River Neckar, one of the most beautiful cities in Germany. It's simply magical. Visit the world-famous ruins of Heidelberg Castle, a stunning combination of architectural styles stretching from the Gothic period to the Renaissance. Stroll through the expansive courtyard and admire the views from the imposing terrace. Marvel at one of the largest wine barrels in the world. You then wander through the medieval town center. Here you will see the Old Bridge, the Karlstor, and the Church of the Holy Spirit. Admire the Haus zum Ritter (Knight's house) with its magnificent Renaissance façade and discover the old narrow lanes with their half-timbered houses. Heidelberg is also home to Germany’s oldest university and is full of interesting stories. And if you still have some time to spare, you can philosophize on Philophenweg (Philosophers' Way) or discover the excellent regional wines – the two go together quite nicely.

It was great. Our guide was very nice unlike the stereotype of most Germans. He was nice and thoughful. But his English still has some room for improvement because it's quite hard to understand what exactly he's talking about especially when he's explaining history. The trip was nice and comfortable. He's punctual and responsive.

The tour to Heidelberg was surprisingly pleasant. While the shuttle that carried us there and the size of the group didn't look promising at first, my expectations were surpassed by the tour itself, the friendliness of the guide and the many trivia that he shared with us, besides the standard monuments' description. I wish we would've had more time to explore but we did see plenty for 4 hours in the town (since 1hr was the trip from Frankfurt). All in all, it was a pleasant experience with the only downside being the hefty price (over €100).

Had a wonderful day trip with our guide Micheal and driver Nico. Michael kept us busy with his narration about the history of Frankfurt, Heidelberg and Germany in general (including details about the architecture, culture, arts, technology and more). Once in Heidelberg we had a tour of the castle and the apothecary museum, and then we were given a free time to explore on our own. Highly recommended!
