Paris: Murder Mysteries Group Walking Tour

1. Paris: Murder Mysteries Group Walking Tour

On this 2-hour walking tour you will learn about the city’s darker side as you glance into its macabre underbelly. Paris has a long and tragic history of murder and execution, of rampant disease among the lower classes, and of bitter wars fought against a corrupt monarchy. The tour rips open the cloak of darkness, as you wind down alleyways and cut through the hushed night. Your English-speaking guide will take you to sites such as the Place de la Vert Gallant, where the last of the Knights’ Templar was burned at the stake. You will visit St Germain de Auxerrois, where estimates say some 30,000 people were killed in the St. Bartholomew’s Day Massacre. Your guide will point out places of interest as you stroll, leaving no stone unturned. As you delve into stories of ritual worship, you will learn about characters like Napoleon Bonaparte, Marie Antoinette and Henry IV, as well as the serial killers that once stalked these ghastly streets.

The tour was perfectly structured and Victorie was a wonderful guide. Along with our teenage kids, we went in a number of tours around the world and this one was one of the best. The information was heavily based on Paris’s and French history, therefore it was interesting and useful. The fact that it touched a lot a certain compact historic period helped, since it made sense and was connected for a larger picture. All in all, both fun and useful, a memorable experience.

Our guide Silvana was fun and added a bit of drama to all the stories she told, which was entertaining, would recommend the tour. It went more down the history lane than the mystery one, but enjoyable all the same!

This your was a great insight into the Game of Thrones-esque history of Paris. Vic's passion for history was obvious and she did a great job of telling the stories.

We had Ami as our guide. Very knowledgeable guy who told interesting and exciting stories. It was noticeable that he loves history. Recommend!

Michelle was fantastic and funny. It was cool that we got to see parts of the catacombs not open to the public.
