Full description
After meeting your guide in central Florence, listen to an insightful introduction about the Cinque Terre on the 2-hour bus journey to La Spezia. After a quick bathroom break, board the first train of the day. Arrive in Manarola, the first of the Cinque Terre villages you will visit. Here you will join a small guided walk through the vines, and then enjoy some free time to explore at your own pace. Next, take the train to Corniglia. Climb the steps to reach the center of this quaint village and take some time to wander around. If you have selected the add-on, sit down at a local restaurant with a beautiful terrace and sea views. Tuck into a lunch of fresh fish for your 'primo' and homemade pesto pasta for your ‘secondo’. Then, choose to either go on an adventurous guided hike from Corniglia to Vernazza, or if you prefer to take it easy, follow your guide and take a train instead. Once in Vernazza, sit at one of the local cafés, or take a refreshing dip in the sea. Next, board a train to Monterosso, the village renowned for its beautiful beaches and artisan shops. If the weather allows it, you will then board a boat to navigate along the coast of the Cinque Terre. Arrive in Riomaggiore, an ancient fishing village and the most southern of the 5 villages. After exploring this last village, board the train back to La Spezia and then take the coach back to Florence.

It was an amazing trip and must have if you are visiting Tuscany during your Italy trip. Chris and Alessandro are amazing guides who took care of the whole group, answered all the queries, suggested good restaurants, things to try and Chris even suggested us few things for our next trip to Venice. This trip was a key highlight of our 10 day Italy trip.

The "Cinque Terre Day Trip from Florence with optional Hiking Tour" tour was excellent! If you only have one day to visit Cinque Terre from Florence AND want to see as much as possible while being guided by knowledgable, helpful and friendly guides then this is the tour for you. Even though I have visited Italy many, many times, this was my first visit to Cinque Terre so I wanted to get an overview of the 5 towns and see highlights. Mission accomplished. My Sister and I skipped the optional hike (opted for the short train up and bus down) and lunch (we did our own thing) which were the right choices for us. This is a full day tour so fuel up before the day starts. You be taking buses and trains (organized well) and will be walking A LOT. If you take this great tour: wear comfortable shoes, travel light & make sure that you have sunscreen and/or a hat. Gabriel & Manolo make it as easy as possible for the people on the tour, are awesome and made the day fantastic!

I really enjoyed this trip to Cinque Terre. It's an early start and a long day but WORTH IT! The tour was well organised and Manolo was our wonderful guide on this trip. I considered doing the trip without a guided tour but I definitely would not have been able to do it alone. We had enough time in each of the villages and the lunch was great. Do the hike, it's beautiful and slightly challenging maybe 6/10, takes about an hour or so. I highly recommend this tour to anyone considering it, great value for money.
