  • Ride a vintage Vespa through the Tuscan countryside
  • Leave Florence in a small swarm of Vespas and head for the freedom of the hills
  • Enjoy a magnificent view from a private terrace and sample some of Tuscany's best prosciutto and cheese with a glass of Chianti
Full description

Explore the beautiful countryside of Tuscany on a vintage Vespa tour from Florence. Pass through the narrow streets to admire the pretty castles, villas, olive groves, and more. Take photos at the stops before tasting the region’s best prosciutto ad cheese accompanied by a glass of Chianti.

Meet at the centrally located garage for your introduction to one of the perfectly restored Vintage Vespas. Your tour leader will fit you with a helmet and give you some basic instructions and safety information before setting off for this exhilarating ride through the countryside. Leave Florence in a small swarm of Vespas and head for the freedom of the hills, following the tour leader along the riverside and a tree-lined avenue to a famous viewpoint.

After posing for photos with your Vespa and the amazing skyline of Florence, enjoy a bit of culture with a quick visit to one of Florence's oldest churches. Feeling more confident now with your Vespa, it's time for some more challenging roads as you leave the crowds and traffic behind and take to the narrow lanes between castles and villas, through ancient olive groves and vineyards.

There are plenty of stops for photos and if two people are sharing a Vespa, there's plenty of chance to take turns. When it's time for a break, enjoy a magnificent view from a private terrace and sample some of Tuscany's best prosciutto and cheese with a glass of Chianti.

Then be prepared to turn some heads as you ride expertly back into the city as you and your Vintage Vespa become one of the tourist sights of Florence.

I got to drive the vintage Fiat after doing a little test run - I loved it!!! Driving up to the Vineyard where the food, drink and wine were worth it!! Christian, one of the guides was friendly and was very patient and helpful. If you have zero experience with 2 wheels then be advised it’s very nerve racking…you will be going on main roads! During the test (which is to drive up the hilled drive next to the garage in front of the rest of the group) you’ll soon realise its harder than you think! This does take up a lot of the time too. After the lady in front of me went into the wall, I realized it wasn’t for me!! The guides are great as they will help where possible but they will also ‘fail’ you if they don’t think you are safe - Listen to them! They have people regularly have accidents because people have been cocky and wanted to do it ignoring the guides and thinking about the money they have paid more than the safety of themselves and the safety of others.

Fabulous tour and great guides - everyone was really good. There is some mucking around at the start but to be expected to ensure everyone can ride. Would recommend this activity and definitely do it again. The Vespas are great, instructions are clear and the vistas amazing.

The excursion wasn’t quite as described. There was quite a long bus journey from the city to the warehouse where they house the Vespas. There was far too much time spent waiting around for all of the participants to have a test ride on the Vespa before finally getting out on the road. The actual time spent riding was short but made the excursion worth doing as the scenery was stunning and the meal was excellent. Would love to have spent more time riding or a reduction in the cost of the excursion.
