Full description

Take a ride on the iconic Vespa, through the lush countryside of Tuscany. We will pick you up with one of our comfortable, air-conditioned mini-vans and we'll take you to the countryside, away from the busy city. In just 15 minutes you'll be at the doors of Chianti countryside. Then you will receive an orientation on how to use the Vespa safely, before we head out for our engaging and enjoyable ride. Driving at a relaxed pace along quiet and scenic country roads, you will be offered beautiful views of the rolling hillsides. We will visit different medieval villages in the heart of Tuscany and enjoy the most incredible landscapes. Next, we will stop at a 17th-century villa for a typical Tuscan meal and a guided tour of the vineyards and cellars, with wine tasting and olive oil tasting.

Know before you go

  • You must know how to ride a scooter and bring a valid driver's license to join the tour. Drivers must be 18 years or older and have a valid driving license the tour day, otherwise, you won’t be allowed to drive. Passengers must be at least 13 years old
  • The activity provider reserves the right to judge your driving ability and self-confidence and to stop the use of the Vespa at any point without refund
  • Any participant unable to drive scooters safely may ride double with a partner, or on the guide’s scooter if available or continue the tour on board the support minivan if unable to be a safe passenger as well. No refunds will be granted in this case
  • Mileage: 22 miles round-trip (35 kms)
  • Terrain: Mostly paved back roads with very little traffic.
  • Difficulty: Easy - average speed 20 km/h (12.5 mls/h). Minivan support always guaranteed
  • The maximum load the Vespa can tolerate is 170 kg / 374 lbs (whether one or two people, bags included)

We had a wonderful day for Vespa riding this week. Our guides, Hader and Sebastian, were funny, knowledgeable, and really made sure we were safe driving the vespas before we took off. It seems like we rode for a long time on the vespas (maybe 40+km). Stopped at this very scenic spot for a photo op (Hader must be a professional photographer on the side. He took amazing pics- even black and white). We then drove on to Greve in Chianti where we stopped in a cute town and had a little free time to shop and have a quick, provided, sandwich. Then we drove the vespas back to the winery where we had amazing views of an olive tree orchard. We learned how they made the olive oil and had a very tasty 4 course lunch. I would totally do this trip again. It was one of our most fun days in Florence/Italy so far. We had a little snap foo when a parade and a marathon interrupted our route. The guides worked around it and stayed extra late to give us our special day. Loved this. Book it now!

The trip was amazing from A to Z. Everything was well organized and exactly what the description said about the trip. I would just change the “driving lesson” for the vespa to try on a flat surface first…
