Full description

Explore the heart of beautiful Tuscany on a full-day tour of the towns of San Gimignano and Siena, then discover the bucolic wine region of Chianti. Depart from Florence by an air-conditioned bus to your first stop, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of San Gimignano.

Discover one of the most splendid examples of an Italian medieval town. Distinguished by its famous towering skyline, San Gimignano stands along the Via Francigena on the hills of the Upper Val D’Elsa.

Get acquainted with the Tuscan environment with the town’s Vernaccia di San Gimignano wine, saffron, and Santa Fina pottery. Enjoy some free time to stroll through the town on your own and see its beautiful squares, architecture, churches, and side streets.

Afterward, head out to a unique location in the Chianti countryside to enjoy a wine tasting. Once you hop off the bus, be guided around a splendid winery. Get introduced to the estate's fascinating history and background.

Head inside the cellars to learn the secrets of Chianti winemaking together with the local host. Then enjoy a delicious wine tasting of Chianti Classico.

Continue to Siena for a guided tour of its enchanting architectural styles, including the Cathedral (exterior only) and Palazzo Comunale (Municipal Building, exterior only) in Piazza del Campo. The famous shell-shaped square provides the stage for the thrilling Palio horse race, run twice every summer.

Great guides and beautiful sites. We started at 7:30am and went straight to San Gimagnano which I think was a mistake because none of the stores were open. Last time I did a similar tour San Gimagnano was just before lunch which made us experience this beautiful village when it was alive. The vineyard picked was next to an industrial site which did not give a lot of Tuscany vibe. The wine presentation was made over the lunch and sounded more like a sales pitch. Other than that, the guides were great and tried really hard to make the day interesting.

Definitely recommend this trip to anyone visiting florence and looking for an easy way to see a few more places. Great value for money. I added the lunch, but I probably wouldn't bother as wastes alot of time in Siena and wasn't anything special. Better to find something yourself. Lots of free time in all 3 areas, guides were lovely, friendly and made all instructions clear. Bus was comfy and safe, and easy to get to by tram in the morning.

Great trip. 3 hours in Siena was a bit too much as we couldnt find any good restaurant or coffee place. It got super crowded around 12pm. Make sure you have comfortable shoes. Julia was lovely just not very energetic to keep everyone excited and interested in the tour. We tasted only 2 red wines. It didn’t feel like a proper wine tasting. We wanted to explore the vineyard but it wasn’t included. We were shown just the cellar.
