Visit the ancient center of the city, where some of the most interesting secrets are kept. At the Baptistery, Duomo, and Cathedral, you’ll hear about the Miracle of the Flowering Tree and the Bull and the Baker.
At a spot near Dante’s home your guide will tell you about the Church of Dante and Beatrice. Stop to see Palazzo Vecchio, the location of the guilds, and the Medici family political court.
Continue on to the lovely Piazza della Signoria, site of an open-air museum with many statues, including a copy of Michelangelo’s David, and other noteworthy works, including the often unseen Profile, carved by Michelangelo.
Walk through the wings of the Uffizi Gallery, and follow along the Arno River to the Ponte Vecchio, famous for its gold jewelry shops.
The tour ends in front of the iconic Palazzo Pitti.
