This was such an amazing addition to our trip to Florence. Our driver Aladdin was the best! He was very thoughtful, and detailed orientated ( I had not added the lunch and he suggested we do so and took care of it before we got in the car, thank goodness he did because it was fully booked by the time we arrived after Sienna and we were hungry) he was also super fun. Sienna and San Gimignano were incredible. The only draw back was the guide in Sienna who could not really speak English and was not very engaging. I would highly recommend this day trip!

Full description

Enjoy a full-day excursion by minivan to see the beautiful Chianti area and to visit the cities of Siena and San Gimignano.  Depart at 9:00 AM from Piazza Cavalleggeri, the meeting point located in the city center of Florence. Stop at Piazzale Michelangelo for few minutes to see the splendid panorama and then in one hour you will arrive in Siena. Take a guided tour of the city center, including Piazza del Campo and the Cathedral. There is free time to walk by yourself in the narrow and ancient streets.  Then leave Siena to arrive in Monteriggioni, an old Medieval little village. After a short stop, continue to San Gimignano where you will have free time to explore the city center on your own. San Gimignano is famous for its towers, vernaccia wine and its characteristic craft articles.

We loved this tour but felt the time we were allocated wasn’t near enough at Monteriggiono, Siena and San Gimignano. Our guide Alberto very graciously returned to San Gimignano after a spectacular lunch so we could have a better experience. We truly appreciated this. Siena was beautiful to the point that we do want to go back. Sylvia was our guide for the walking tour and she was funny,knowledgeable and helpful. We missed the Cathedral due to time constraints which was disappointing considering it was included. In the end this was a great tour and our driver Alberto was very knowledgeable in so many areas from history, wines and horticulture. I would definitely recommend Albert as a guide.
