Full description

Discover a masterpiece of art and architecture on a 2-hour guided tour of the Duomo in Florence, including access to Brunelleschi cupola and red-tiled dome. Get a 3-day full-access, skip-the-line pass to Giotto’s Bell Tower, the baptistery, and Opera del Duomo Museum. Skip the long lines with an exclusive pass, and follow your guide inside the ancient cathedral of Florence. See frescoes by Giorgio Vasari and Federico Zuccari, admire the colossal clock by Paolo Uccello, and discover the beauty of the marble floor with its intricate patterns. Walk among the ruins and admire the floor's fine polychrome mosaic with its geometrical decorations. Then, climb the northern terrace of the Duomo’s rooftop. Crawl through the narrow and open-air corridors that have been closed to the public for centuries. Enjoy a breathtaking panorama that will take your breath away.

End your tour with an exclusive visit to a circular room full of old statues that used to adorn the façade of the Duomo. See the restoration work in action as the craftsmen work with their spatulas and chisels, still dirty and smelling of stucco.

This is an extremely busy tourist destination., so make sure you have something ahead of time. The tour added a lot to the enjoyment of the church. You have to walk several blocks to the meeting place. If you purchase the Skywalk or dome pass, be in great shape, there are a lot of stairs. It's a slow process getting to the top as the stairs are one way, so allow an hour and a half AFTER your tour.

This was a fun experience. The guide was informative and entertaining (she had a lovely dry wit which I thoroughly enjoyed.) I was able to appreciate the experience more from her analysis of the architecture, historical context and art work because, on first entry, I was rather stunned by how underwhelming it was by comparison to other churches I have visited in Florence specially and Italy more widely. The dome, of course, was a monumental piece of art, and the climb to the terraces and the dome itself brought breath-taking views of the city. However, the price of the ticket was pretty steep given the rather brief experience!

The guide was amazing! Full of facts and Energy. Lucked out with weather ..the view was not to be missed. I'm so glad I finally went inside the cathedral too. 4th trip here. Lines are always so long ...but late September wasn't too bad. There is always a line due to security ..which is great. The cathedral is excavated below and it was super interesting..... Always good the go with Get your Guide!
