What to Expect
Skip the line at all of the attractions that we visit on this private tour of the Uffizi Gallery and Florence fashion history. Our full-day program begins when you meet your guide at the entrance to the Uffizi Gallery.
After visiting the Uffizi we continue on to the Ferragamo Museum and then to the Pitti Palace to see the Costume Gallery, the Medici Treasury and the Boboli Gardens, where the tour ends. Along the way we’ll stop for an aperitif at the historical Giacosa Coffee Shop, now the headquarters of the Roberto Cavalli Company.
The Uffizi Gallery is the most important art museum in Florence, housing masterpieces by artists such as Botticelli, Michelangelo, Piero della Francesca, Paolo Uccello and Leonardo da Vinci.
At the Ferragamo Museum we’ll see exhibits covering the span of Salvatore Ferragamo’s career, highlighting his technical and artistic skills which made a fundamental contribution to Italian fashion.
Our next stop is the Costume Gallery at the Pitti Palace, where the collection comprises over 6,000 items including costumes from the 16th-20th centuries, and theatre costumes and accessories. This is the only museum that is dedicated to the history of Italian fashion.
At the Medici Treasury you’ll see the semi-precious stone vases of Lorenzo the Magnificent and many more art objects belonging to the Medici family. The Museum also houses an important collection of jewels crafted during the 17th-20th centuries by Italian and other European workshops.
