Overview
You'll feel like you're back in the Middle Ages of one of the most powerful cities in the 14th century. Meander through alleys, markets and streets. You might even meet poet Dante Alighieri and have a special time!
What to Expect
This vibrant historical tour starts from Piazza del Duomo – with its cathedral, baptistery and bell Tower – down to Piazza della Signoria and its imposing Palazzo Vecchio. You will then stroll through Dante 's Quarter, the area where the famous Florentine poet of the middle ages, Dante Alighieri lived, surrounded by towers, small churches, oratories and alleys.

Every corner of Florence has a story to tell. For instance, Orsanmichele Church was originally built as a market for wheat and corn in 1337, but between 1380 and 1404, it was converted into a church and used by the powerful guilds as their chapel. That's why outside the facade of the church, you'll see so many statues of the patron saints of each trade guild.

The tour will end with a stop in Palazzo Davanzati, the first architectural example of a medieval house built by a rich family of merchants.  From the inner courtyard to the private rooms with some extraordinary frescoes, it will feel like a step back in time. You can't imagine how many secrets are hidden within these walls!
