Full description
Get an exclusive introduction to Chianti Classico wine and its origins on a full-day wine tasting tour from Florence. Transfer by minivan from Florence, enjoying views of the vineyards en route to the Chianti wine region. Stop at a winery with breathtaking contemporary cellars. Constructed in harmony with the landscape, the vineyard covers the entire edifice. Taste some of the best wines of one of the major wine producers of Italy, learning about their philosophy and vision for the future. Your sommelier guide will talk about the different methods of wine production in the region, explaining the benefits of the rich soil and other conditions. Continue to a second winery and admire this stunning location. See the massive towers of a 13th-century castle, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, before tasting the best of the wines after a tour of the cellars. The third wine estate is a boutique winery, where wines from the producer will be served along with a gourmet spread of traditional Tuscan food. Along the way, learn the difference between “Chianti” wines and "Chianti Classico." Your sommelier will also teach you how to distinguish between the acidity, aromas, scents, and flavors of the different grapes, and tell you which wines pair best with your favorite foods.

Matteo was an excellent guide on our wine tour. He was impressively well informed, and we all learned so much about the viticulture and wines of the Chianti region. The three course meal at Relais Villa and Wine Bar was simple and delicious. All the beautiful scenery was fun to capture with my iPhone camera, and We won’t soon forget the great couples enjoying their honeymoons, and anniversaries; all such pleasant company for our wine tour. chin chin! Thank you, Matteo Philip and Marylou Mallouk Woodstock, CT US

    Very Educational.

Our guide Matt is a sommelier as such he was excrement at discussing the various wines. What impressed me even more was his discussion of the countryside. Further, it rained hard during part of the trip and he rearranged the itenary to accomadate us but still got everything in. Finally, I have to mention the lunch we were served at the final stop; not only did we taste s local olive oil followed by a 3 course "lunch" but my wife is sensitive to gluten and they brought her GF bread and pasta!

Our guide was great. There were only two of us and certainly not always fully receptive. But with a lot of patience everything would be explained to us more often.
