This Basilica was awe inspiring! Not only for the beauty that surrounds you when you go inside but knowing that the tombs of people, that have been so influential in western civilization, are there. Definitely, an important place to visit in Florence!

It was worth to see this place where the cross of Jesus Christ that was destroyed in 1966 by the flood in Florence still hang until this day. Also if you are fond of the Medici family series, you have to see the Medici chapel that the Medici sponsored. Many remains of famous contributors of Florence like scientists, artists and philosophers are buried here too many to mention. Visit this place for sure and put it in your itinerary. I highly recommend it.

We decided to do this on a whim since it was just around the corner from our hotel. It was definitely a very cool site and not as busy as some other places in Florence (still a little busy, but not too bad.) This is just an entry ticket, so you just show the voucher at the door.
