Full description

Get a taste of 'la dolce vita' on this jam-packed tour to the Cinque Terre, a collection of quintessential Italian towns dotted along the coast of Tuscany.

After meeting your guide in central Florence, listen to an insightful introduction about the Cinque Terre on the 2-hour bus journey to La Spezia. After a quick bathroom break, board the first train of the day. Arrive in Manarola, the first of the Cinque Terre villages you will visit. Here you will join a small guided walk through the vines, and then enjoy some free time to explore at your own pace. Next, take the train to Corniglia.

Climb the steps to reach the center of the quaint village and wander around. Then, choose to either go on a guided hike to Vernazza, or if you prefer to take it easy, follow your guide and take a train instead. Once in Vernazza, sit at one of the local cafés, or take a dip in the sea.

Next, board a train to Monterosso, the village renowned for its beautiful beaches and artisan shops. If the weather allows it, you will then board a boat to navigate along the coast of the Cinque Terre.

Arrive in Riomaggiore, an ancient fishing village and the most southern of the 5 villages. After exploring this last village, board the train back to La Spezia and then take the coach back to Florence.

The good (actually great): The guides were awesome and very knowledgeable. The bus ride there and back was very good. the boat was really cool too. The hike was awesome as well. Do the hike but be aware, it's NOT a walk in the park. Well, it was for me. The Bad: Soooooooo crowded! The trains were overpacked and the towns were inundated with tourists. I guess that's just the way it is. The Ugly: Bathrooms! Come on!!!! Really???? You can't find a public restroom and when you do find one, it's pay to pee! I highly recommend doing the tour regardless of the crowds and the toilets situation. The guides more than make up for it. Plus the shear beauty you get to experience is AMAZING!!!!!

We had the best time on this trip! Emma and Ado were amazing travel buddies! They were both extremely personable, made us laugh and feel comfortable and were super knowledgeable about the area. They always have us clear instructions, kept us on schedule and made sure that we were well taken care of, giving us suggestions on the best places to eat or take pictures. They make the trip!! We were so happy to have been able to see all 5 lands. It is definitely a long day but we knew it would be going in. We thought it was all coordinated extremely well and the large group was well managed. My only complaint is that the meeting spot was slightly different from where GetYourGuide said it was. And it was with Walkabout Tours - so we saw those signs and didn’t think it was the right group. Would have been nice to have that information in all the lead up to the activity or in the app which we checked multiple times for the meeting spot.

Our primary guide, Aldo, was absolutely amazing. Specifically, he was extremely knowledgeable in the history of the area and exceptionally personable. After only a brief conversation on the bus, Aldo would call us by name for the rest of the day. Gave us terrific insight about the area as well!! He is so incredibly humble as well!
