Know before you go
- Unannounced renovation work is often done during the off-season. Crowds are expected during the high season.
- The baptistery is currently undergoing restoration of the vault's mosaics.
- The cathedral is a working church, and entry is not always guaranteed. Hours can change without notice.
- Florence can be hot in the summer. This tour includes portions that are outside and could be in full sun. Please bring a hat, a small umbrella, and sunscreen if you are sensitive to the sun.
- You may be refused entry if you fail to comply with the cathedral's dress requirements.
- Clients must arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes before the start of the tour. This is due to the timed entry of the tickets.
- Tickets are timed and expire within 5 to 10 minutes.
- Please be advised that it is not possible to join the tour after it has commenced.
- Please note that the Cathedral is closed to all tourists on Sundays. Instead, we will visit the Ancient Basilica of Santa Reparata (the Crypt).
