Full description

Explore one of the great treasures of the Renaissance, and see art by masters of European painting on a guided tour of the Palatine Gallery, Florence. Located in the former residence of the grand-dukes of Tuscany and later King of Italy, the museum is the 2nd most important Florentine painting gallery after the Uffizi Museum. Follow your guide to see masterpieces by renowned artists, such as Rubens and Caravaggio. Learn to appreciate the skills and techniques of artists like Tiziano and Raffaello. Works are shown on dividers between the fantastic rooms of the Renaissance palace, still decorated with extravagant frescoes and stucco work. Once the guided section of your tour is complete, feel free to stay and browse at leisure. See the Treasure of the Grandukes at Palazzo Pitti's ground floor and discover Italian art from the 18th and 20th centuries at the Galleria d'Arte Moderna on the top floor.

We've booked small group tour, but apparently no one else booked the same spot, so we've got a private tour instead. Our guide, Roberta from Florencepass, is truly amazing. She's art historian, speaks 5 languages (I wish one day my English becomes as good as hers, initially I thought she was British) and knows everything about artworks in Palazzo Pitti, architecture of the palace and history of Florence. At the end of the tour, she gave us some very usefull tips about Boboli Gardens and other florentine museum. I highly recommend this tour.

Meeting point easy to find , guide had a sign so easy to find. The Guides knowledge was endless , every room we went into he knew the history behind the room and the paintings. The tour went by so quickly two plus hours later we felt like we had just started.

Great

Booked the tour through the app. The guide, Maurizio, proved to be well prepared and available! It should be noted that the tour lasted over two hours, which was more than appreciated by everyone and which demonstrates the passion of the guide for his work. The tour was in fluent and adjective English. Recommended
