Let our expert guides take you through the Chianti region of Tuscany on an excursion that explores the area’s wine, food and architecture. You’ll travel in a private minivan on this full-day tour that starts in Florence.
What to Expect
Tuscany’s Chianti region has become inextricably linked with the world-famous red wine it produces. On our tour you’ll experience that wine and regional specialty dishes as well the natural beauty of this part of Italy. Many of the wineries that produce Chianti Classico are open for tours and tastings.
Chianti encompasses parts of the provinces of Arezzo, Florence, Pisa and Siena. The town of Greve and the Badia a Passignano, or Abbey of Passignano are particular gems of the region.
We depart from Florence at 09:00 and make our way Greve, the market town of Chianti, where we will visit its market square before heading on to the Casaloste winery for a tour and wine tasting.
The black rooster, or Gallo Nero, is seen on the neck label of Chianti Classico wines and stands as a symbol of the region. Our expert guides will tell you about the area’s history, its wines and culinary traditions.
We’ll stop for lunch at Restaurant La Scuderia in Badia a Passignano to sample some mouth-watering local specialties. After lunch, we’ll take a walk either in the Antinori vineyards or around the small castle of Montefioralle.
Our final stop on the tour is a visit to the cellars of Setriolo, where you’ll also have the opportunity to taste their wines.
