We had an exceptional tour with Alessandro, He imparted so much knowledge concerning the history of the garden, why it was situated where it is, as well as it’s significance to the Doge and the community, that we know we would have missed if we’d just wandered through it on our own. Moreover, he was able to point out the significance of the important statues in the garden, as well as the distant buildings which we could view from the garden, We highly recommend Alessandro and this tour.

Full description

Journey back in time on a guided tour of the Boboli Gardens and get impressive views of Florence as you explore the formal 16th-century Italian gardens of the Medici grand dukes of Tuscany. Learn how the noble, Luca Pitti bought land from the Borgolo family on the south side of the River Arno following construction of his palace. Explore aspects of the original design by Niccolò Tribolo and later features by Giorgio Vasari, Bartolomeo Ammannati and Bernardo Buontalenti. Marvel at water features, including many fountains and little islands, along with temples, statues and beautiful caves built within the grounds. See the impressive Grotta Grande and beautiful Fountain of Neptune above the Amphitheatre, along with the Koffeehouse and Knight's Garden overlooking the surrounding countryside.
