Join this fun day trip to the Chianti countryside. Visit two local wineries and taste their flavorful wines, as well as local produce samples. Walk through the streets of San Gimignano at your own pace, discovering this charming town first-hand. Head straight to a luxury winery to taste 4 different types of wines including the renowned black rooster Chianti Classico, Brunello of Montalcino, Super Tuscan wines, along with a 30-year-old balsamic vinegar, and truffle extra virgin olive oil. Develop your taste buds together with a wine producer. Move onto a local family run winery facing the famous towers of San Gimignano. Let the winemakers guide you through the vineyards and the cellars and share the secrets of wine and oil production. At this winery, take the opportunity to buy their local products and wine at a convenient cost to bring back home or to ship to friends and family. Enjoy the Vernaccia white wine and a Chianti Colli Senesi D.O.C.G. In the afternoon, enjoy visiting and spending time wandering through the narrow streets of San Gimignano at your own pace. Shop 'til you drop and enjoy gelato from the world-champion icecream making gelateria. Your departure from San Gimignano is at 3:45 PM approx with an estimated travel time of 1 hour. You'll arrive back in Florence at about 5 PM.

Meet your guide wearing a purple T-shirt at 9:45 AM at the Piazza della Calza, directly in front of the Porta Romana at the blue P (parking) sign, near "San Giovanni Battista della Calza" church. From the train station, you have several options: walking, taking the bus or a taxi. If you choose to take the bus, catch bus n° 11 (direction Galluzzo-La Gora) to "Calza Serragli." Look for your guide standing a large gate identifiable by their purple uniform. Alternatively, opt for bus n° 36 or 37 to "Porta Romana" (which is located outside the gate, ensure you arrive on the inner side of the gate. If you are in front of the roundabout, you're at the wrong side).

  • If you are spending the night in Siena, ask your guide to be dropped off in San Gimignano so you don't have to go all the way back to Florence. From San Gimignano, you can take a local bus to Siena.
  • In summer, the maximum number of participants is 60.

Alessandro our guide was excellent. He was fun & very informative, giving us a detailed guide of the regions along the journey. The 2 tastings were very different. The first one was professional & a large winery & the second intimate, with the family joining the tasting. Both were in beautiful surroundings & very hospitable & enjoyable. Food was also provided. The hosts at both gave detailed explanations of the different types of wine which was interesting. Overall a great day that I would highly recommend.

It was great to try so many different wines and I had lovely company to enjoy it with. I personally thought the tour was slightly rushed, it would be good to have a little more time especially in the second spot. But all in all very good tour.
