Guided tour: Viking Village Nærøyfjorden Cruise Flåm Railway
The tour starts by a premium Mercedes minibus at the Tourist Information in Bergen, before heading east, where our first sightseeing stop will be at the magnificent waterfall, Tvindefossen. Standing tall at an impressive 116 meters (381 ft), this natural wonder is more than just your average cascade. Fed by the Kroelvi stream, it dramatically tumbles over a receding cliff, showcasing nature's raw power and sheer beauty. What makes Tvindefossen one of the best waterfalls in Norway isn't just its height or the mesmerizing water flow; it's the legends and history that envelop it, giving this spot a mystical aura. Before this, we stop at Dale village for 20 minutes where you can get some coffee or snacks, as well as toilet break. Further on, we arrive at Gudvangen, the home of the famous viking village in Njardarheimr. In Viking Valley, you will meet the inhabitants of the Viking town of Njardarheimr, which will take you 1000 years back in time. In Njardarheimr, you get to take an active part in a community of people who are passionate about telling the story of the Vikings, their journeys, boats and how the Viking Age has left its mark on our modern society. Here you can freely wander around and experience the various buildings and activities in the Viking town and learn more about building practices, religion, food and crafts. If you want, there is lunch possibilities in the village. After the viking tour you will take the electric cruise through Nærøyfjorden. The narrow and spectacular Nærøyfjord is surrounded by steep valley sides and snow-covered peaks that rise 1,800 metres above sea level, with thundering waterfalls and picturesque villages along the fjord. The cruise will arrive in Flåm. We will have 1 hour for lunch/sightseeing. Flåm is the most popular village around the Aurlandsfjord, and one of Norway’s most popular tourist destinations. In Flåm your guide will meet you, and give you further information. From Flåm you will take the famous Flåm railway to Bergen. The Flåm Railway is one of the steepest standard gauge railway lines in the world, with 80% of the journey running on a gradient of 5.5%. The train runs through spectacular scenery, alongside the Rallar Road, vertiginous mountainsides, foaming waterfalls, through 20 tunnels, and offers so many viewpoints that, for many people, a single trip up and down is not enough. The beautiful train ride will take aprox. 3 '/2 hours, and you will return in Bergen at 21:15 pm. You take the train in Flåm leaving 17:30 pm The first train (R45Myrdal) takes 55 minutes. Then you will make a change of trains in Myrdal, which is the end stop of the train leaving from Flåm. The next train called (R40Bergen) goes directly from Myrdal to Bergen at 18:48 pm at Spor 11 (Track 11). On the second train station you can buy food/snacks and the have lavatories.
