Full description
After meeting your guide and boarding the coach, drive to the Chianti region. On the way to the first winery, your guide will share interesting facts and curiosities about landmarks along the route. Arrive at the first “cantina” of the day, where you will be welcomed by the winemakers. After listening to a brief introduction about the winery’s history and the types of wine made there, join a guided tour of the facilities and nearby vineyards. Learn all about the winemaking process, the materials used to make the barrels, and what it takes to be classified as a “Chianti Classico”. Then, begin your first wine tasting of about 5 wines. You will hear an explanation of each of the wines that you sample, as well as some tips on how to savor the wine and understand its qualities. The wines will be accompanied by local snacks produced in the region, such as cheese, bread, olive oil, and salumi. Board the bus and continue to the second winery. On the way, make a stop at a scenic lookout to observe a stunning panorama of the Chianti Hills. At the second winery, learn about their production methods, what is unique about their vines, and how weather can affect the grapes. Explore the facilities during a short guided tour, and walk through the vineyards. Then, sample another round of up to 5 wines, as the local charismatic wine producer tells you about the peculiarities of each. After some free time, head back to Florence.

This tour is perfect for everyone. You visit 2 winery’s where you learn how the wines are made and what’s makes them unique. First winery you try 5 red wines, with bread sticks, cheese and salami with the options to purchase the wines after. I wish I purchased a bottle at this winery in my opinion the wines where nicer here then the 2nd winery.I found that I couldn’t purchase the wine from that winery anywhere in Florence. :( 2nd winery we tried a sweet moscato followed by a dry white wine, it was served with local olive oil and bread. We then tried 2 red wines and finally we then where served a desert wine which was accompanied by some biscotti which they made on site. They also had a visitors book which was accompanied by bread which was salted, cooked and drizzled with olive oil. I thought this was a nice touch when you depart the winery, it was also delicious. This is experience will be something I remember for life, great price and great tour. Would highly recommend.

The trip was okay and was more or less what we expected. One big thing we didn’t like was that despite being told to wear a face mask, not one person did except for my wife and I. Similarly, when everyone sat at the large tables they were all sitting shoulder to shoulder and opposite each other. Again, not one person wore a mask. I should add that the tour guide did but no one told everyone on the bus that a mask was compulsory and it absolutely should be as we come from all corners of the world.

Overall good experience to beautiful wineries. Wasn't pleased that there were children on the tour. When I researched the age limit of 13 to be on the tour. Young children screaming and running around didn't make it an exceptional experience. Hard to hear the winery personnel with the children. If it states an age limit...you should enforce
