We had an absolutely amazing time exploring the medina of Fes with our tour guide, Kamal. From the very beginning, Kamal impressed us with his warm personality, sense of humor, and deep knowledge of the city's history and culture. He brought the medina to life with fascinating stories and insights that you simply wouldn't get on your own. During the tour, we visited the famous tannery, an incredible madrasa, and wandered through the vibrant souks. Each stop was full of color, history, and culture—and Kamal explained everything in such an engaging and insightful way. He also gave us plenty of time to take photos, shop, and really soak in the atmosphere at our own pace. Kamal also helped us interact with local artisans and shopkeepers, making the experience feel truly authentic and personal. Full description

After a pick-up at your hotel or riad in Fez, head out on a guided tour of the medina, one of the world’s largest walled-in cities.

Explore the narrow streets lined with shops selling fresh fruits, spices, intricately woven Berber carpets and numerous other art and craft items from Morocco.

Visit the Quaraouiyine Mosque, founded in 859 by Fatima el Fihri and the Andalusian Mosque dating back to 860 (note that non-Muslims are not permitted to enter). Take in other sites including the Nejjarine Fountain, the Bouaanania Medersa, dating from the 13th century and the Batha Palace, which is now a museum of arts and traditions.
