Fez: Half-Day Sightseeing Tour

You will begin your tour at Bab Boujloud, the ornate blue gate leading into the Medina. From here you will head to the magnificent Moulay Idriss Mausoleum, which includes a beautiful esplanade where the Fez Festival of World Sacred Music concerts takes place each year. You will then visit foundouk Najjarine, which houses the "Museum of Wooden Arts and Crafts". You will be surprised here by the collection of the traditional tools used by craftsmen, as well as the Berber carpets and musical instruments. Next up will be the Qaraouiyine Mosque, which is both a university and a mosque situated in the heart of the Medina. UNESCO has named it the oldest continuously functioning educational institution in the world. You will then tour the souks of Fez, along the river and inside the walls of the town. Whilst here, you will be free to enter into one of the foundouks (workshop of craftsmen) to explore on your own. You will then see the city’s tannery, a fascinating place that is the largest tannery in Africa. Finally, at the end of the tour, you will head back to your accommodation.
