What people are saying about Fes
We loved our tour. Mustapher, our driver, our tour guide, is great. He is prompt, knowledgeable, detail in all aspect, and good conservationist. We are a group of 3 friends+ Patrick, who we met in this tour, total 4. We had so much fun, good conversation, good information regarding Morocco, the country, different types of cultures, family etc. We get to see so much of this region, from Fez to Marrakech, different villages, towns, "cities" etc. He made different stops for us to experience the towns, and stretches. It's a lot of car time, but a lot of interesting, fantastic view. The Sahara desert is amazing, sunset, camel ride, Berber tent, dinner, camp fire and dancing. The next morning, we watch the sunrise, yummy breakfast, more camel ride, more sight seeing and learning from Mustapher, until the 2nd night in a beautiful hotel, we loved it. Great hot shower, yummy buffet dinner, great accommodation, and yummy buffet breakfast in the morning. Highlight of our trip. LoveLove
This tour was an incredible experience, I highly recommend it. Some things to keep in mind to set expectations: You will be in a van quite a bit, the desert is far from Marrakech and Fes. A lot of the roads going through the mountains are under construction and that will slow things down some and make for quite the bumpy ride for sections of the journey. It's 100% worth all the van riding though. My driver Haj was very friendly and made sure everything was as comfortable as possible for everyone along the way. Make sure you bring some Dirhams with you to purchase various little things along the way, like sodas or snacks. I really recommend upgrading to the luxury tent option, I've stayed in hotels in America that weren't as nice as my 'tent' with a hot shower and normal, Western style bathrooms. On this tour you'll get some amazing photos and learn lots of cool things about Morocco and the Berber people.
Definitely one of the highlights of our trip! Each day is broken up with regular stops either for excursions and photo opportunitues or refreshment and toilet breaks. The bus was comfy and the driver and guides very knowledgeable. There was some pressure to buy a scarf on the 1st day (can buy them for €3-5 elsewhere and later in the trip vs €10-12) but they are very polite if you decline. Great value for money and an amazing experience all round. Would recommend this over the deluxe option.
As I’m sure you’ve read from other reviews, it’s a very long trip there and back. It was nice having a local guide. Personally speaking I think the blue painted buildings are just a bit of a novelty, but if you’re keen to see it, the tour was a good easy way to see it. The bus had wifi which was great but the seats did feel a little bit cramped for a long journey. Everyone from the tour company was very nice and accommodating.
Mr Ahmed was my guide, awesome awesome, i was the only english tourist for the time i choose and for me that made it more special because Mr ahmed was more like a friend and a guide in one. made sure i had pictures even when i was being shy about it. his knowledge on history is dumbfounding, the joy that radiates from him makes the tourist more interested.
