Depart from the Marina of Faro sailing slowly through the channels of the Ria Formosa to fully enjoy the beautiful landscape. Along the tour you will see birds like the Grey Heron, the White Stork and many other birds that use this area as a feeding habitat. As you approach the islands and beaches you see the lighthouse of Culatra Island where you make our first stop. Looking around, one can observe the hard work of the people in the oyster and clam farms. A closer look towards the coastline and you will notice the market of the city of Olhão - an important fishing town. And off toward the ocean you can glimpse one of the most important sea entrances of the Ria Formosa. The next stop is Farol Island. Here, you can enjoy a walk around the streets of this small but friendly community. When passing by the lighthouse, go on until the very end to admire an extensive beach of fine white sand washed by calm warm waters. Leave the Farol Island and make your second stop at Deserta Island. This island is also known as Barreta Island. Here lies the most southern point of Portugal - the Santa Maria Cape. In this second stop you can choose to explore the fauna and flora of the island by an easy walk or simply enjoy the sunshine and bathe in the clear waters of the beach.

Soak up the stunning natural surrounds aboard a solar powered boat as you cruise through this beautiful natural park. Sit back and relax as you depart from the Faro Marina on board an eco-friendly boat. The solar powered boat is beautifully quiet, and this trip includes a variety of views. Your experienced skipper will guide you through the lagoon, its beautiful channels and marshlands, and approach numerous species of birds that inhabit this protected area without any disturbance.  This small group trip is limited to 10 people, offering an intimate experience and a wonderfully relaxing end to the day watching the sun go down over the lagoon. Discover the beauty along the Ria Formosa Natural Park and make your way to a Desert Island, where you’ll have time to explore the desert beaches. After your time at the beach, continue to discover Ria Formosa’s wonders before heading back to the Faro Marina. Choose from a 1- or 2-hour shared tour, or upgrade your experience to a private 1-hour tour by selecting the relevant option when booking.

Friendly and fun, this is a private guided tour where you get to sample a slice of life in Faro, while enjoying some locally produced wines, beers and cocktails. We operate the guided tours every Wednesday and Saturday in Faro, with more days available during the summer months, tasting the good life in the Algarve's capital. Your local guide takes you to places that you might struggle to find on your own, where you can experience some of the city's great food and vibe. Please note this tour is not tailored for any specific diet. Also, it´s not recommended for pregnant travelers or children. We have a minimum of 4 guests for the tour. Tour start times are subject to change. This is due to the fact that some venues change their opening times over the Summer. Explore the nature and the marine wildlife in the Atlantic Ocean. We'll search for dolphins, and maybe other cetaceans like whales and sharks, in the company of our experienced team. Before getting to the Ocean you'll also visit the Ria Formosa Natural Park and approach the Barrier islands Deserta and Farol. The boat only takes a small group of 12 people, so you'll feel very comfortable. The minimum for the tour happens is 4 participants. The tour might not happen due to bad weather/sea conditions.

So much so that once it was conquered by the Portuguese kings, who called themselves kings of Portugal and the Algarves. Admire the Arco da Vila that dates back to the Moorish reign of the 12th century. This walk combines historical and contemporary points of interest, giving you a feel for the city’s history and people.
