Beginning at 1 PM, get picked up from your hotel and venture up to the Arctic Circle (66.5622°) north of the Equator, where you can have your pictures taken and receive a "Cross the Circle-Certificate." It is here that explorers have been venturing for centuries, drawn by the power the planet has to offer. As you continue your day, pass the Trans-Alaska-Pipeline. Reindeer Walk at Running Reindeer Ranch was an awesome experience! We were up close and personal with so many reindeer within a birch tree forest. This opportunity was magical!! The tour guides -Jayce, Burke, and Johnie- were so cool and funny! Our photos with Toby Reindeer came out so good! I am so glad to have taken this tour, Other places have you view the reindeer behind a fence which makes it so impersonal. This experience allows you to be right there in the reindeer’s space, hoping the naughty reindeers don’t try to boss you around (Patricia!!) Pay attention cuz you’ll have a quiz at the end of the tour and then enjoy some hot chocolate and homemade cookies as you defrost your frozen toes!! I’d definitely do this tour again!! Our transportation to and from the ranch was also an adventure!

Nathan was an exceptional guide! Communication for pickup was easy, quick, and clear; Nathan is friendly, entertaining, and super knowledgeable. He picked a remote location with no other tours- so we had the place to ourselves. We also saw a ton of moose on our way out and back! I brought my camera gear but didn’t know quite what settings to use. Nathan made sure I got everything set up right and got the shots I wanted. He set up a warm tent where we waiting in between bursts and made us fresh oven-baked pizzas! He monitored sky cameras to make sure we weren’t missing anything while we were staying warm. Truly a fantastic tour guide! You won’t regret booking with him!

Pro: The drive up was nice, and very scenic. Our host for the tour was knowledgeable about the history of caribou and reindeer - and answered all questions we had! We had a chance to meet all reindeer and learn more about how they live, what they eat, and even got photos. Con: It says here that the tour is a total of 3-4 hrs but we had been picked up and participated in the tour and reindeer walk for a total of 1.5-2 hrs max. I wish we could have had more time or that the time was filled up more. Overall, a memorable experience but a lot shorter than expected!
