From Fairbanks: Arctic Circle Northern Lights Full-Day Trip

Alaska is a land of constant change. On this full day tour, you will have the chance to experience some of the best and most unique things that make your Alaska trip a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Beginning at 1 PM, get picked up from your hotel and venture up to the Arctic Circle (66.5622°) north of the Equator, where you can have your pictures taken and receive a "Cross the Circle-Certificate." It is here that explorers have been venturing for centuries, drawn by the power the planet has to offer. As you continue your day, pass the Trans-Alaska-Pipeline. Here you can glance one of the world's largest pipelines, which stretches over 800 miles (1,287km). It is a crude oil pipeline privately owned by the Alyeska Pipeline Service Company, and here you will learn the engineering and building process of this epic land-crawling beast. Judge for yourself its impact on the landscape around it. After the pipeline, head straight for the banks of the mighty Yukon River. Walk right up to the edge of its banks, where you will gaze out over the beauty in front of you. From here, head to the high plateau of Finger Mountain, where you will hopefully see moose, fox, bears, and perhaps even a mysterious lynx if you're lucky! Up on the mountain, snack on sandwiches, sweets and hot drinks. Through the night, travel back to Fairbanks. Soon, if we're lucky, the Aurora Borealis appears. This natural light display is caused by the collision of energetic charged particles with atoms high in the atmosphere. The result is a breathtaking display of light that can be bright enough to read a newspaper by! Drive through the night, gazing up at the spectacular Northern Lights, before arriving back in Fairbanks around 3 AM.

After 7 nights of frustration trying to see the Northern Lights, my spouse & I decided to book a tour on our last night in Alaska. We’re so glad we did! Our guides were incredibly determined to fulfill this bucket list experience. We drove a LONG way, and it was a long night, but we saw the aurora! They took tons of photos & encouraged us to have our photos taken lots of times. Our guide warned us that there was only a 50% chance of seeing the lights & offered a refund on the spot if we chose not to take the chance. We were so surprised at how determined he was to find those elusive lights. We would have given up many times as we were going through thick fog. It seemed hopeless, but he kept going. What an amazing experience when we finally saw them!! We can’t say enough about this tour and the determination of our guides Ed & Elena… thanks so much for this incredible experience!! We can’t wait to see the photos! BTW, we did have restroom breaks.

The tour was fantastic.. The weather prior to leaving was terrible and we were given the option to cancel our tour up to one hour before with a full refund We chose to go and we were not disappointed. Ed was amazing, he drove us a distance away from Fairbanks to give us the best opportunity to view the Aurora and view it we did. It was spectacular. Ed took a large number of photos with his professional camera. His excitement was infectious and he certainly made the experience the highlight of our Alaskan trip. A night my wife and I will not forget. We received the photos within a couple of days which will provide us with great memories. We highly recommend Northern Light Aurora Tour. Ed was amazing definitely 10 out of 10

Our driver made an extra effort to get us a view of the aurora. It was a very cloudy night but she moved around until we got a small glimpse. Overall great trip. Driver can’t control the weather.

Ed the guide was an excellent host. He went above and beyond to make sure we catch northern lights on a day with zero to none probability if watching one .

The guide was excellent…… very articulate and interesting! Really knew his stuff!
